You will need the following ingredients for this yummy recipe: 6 avacados, 2-4 garlic cloves, 1 lime cut in half, 1 medium tomato-diced, 1 onion-diced, salt, chopped cilantro, and the optional jalapeno or Serrano pepper, both diced. Start by cutting the avocados in half, remove the pit and place in mixing bowl. Add the minced garlic and squeeze the lime juice over the avocado and mix. Add in the rest of the ingredients, cover the bowl, and refrigerate. Take out when ready to eat!

Chicken Enchiladas


Another classic tex mex recipe is chicken enchiladas. This recipe takes 12 minutes of prep time and 20 minutes of cook time. The ingredients are as follows: 1 can of cream of chicken soup, ½ cup of sour cream, 2 tablespoons of butter, ½ onion, 1 teaspoon of chilli powder, 2 cups of diced cooked chicken, 4 ounce can of green chiles, 8 flour tortillas, 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese. Combine the soup and sour cream in a small bowl and preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Heat butter in a saucepan over medium heat and add onion and chili powder until onion is tender. Stir in chicken, green chillies, and 3 tablespoons of soup mixture. Spread ¼ cup of the mix in middle of tortillas, roll, and place seam side down in a 12×8 baking dish. Pour remainder of mix over enchiladas and bake covered for 15 minutes. Add cheese on top and bake uncovered for remaining five minutes.

Fajita seasoning mix


Fajitas seasoning adds a kick of tex mex flavor to any dish! Make your own in just five short minutes with this recipe. You will need ½ teaspoon of onion powder, ¼ teaspoon garlic powder, ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper, ¼ teaspoon cumin, ¾ teaspoon crushed chicken buliion cube, 1 teaspoon sugar, 1 teaspoon paprika, 1 teaspoon salt, 2 teaspoons chili powder, and 1 tablespoon of cornstarch. Combine all ingredients in a small bowl and mix well. Store in a tight bottle or sandwich bag and use in so many ways!



Make this classic tex mex dish in just 20 minutes total! You will need ¼ cup melted butter, 8 flour tortillas, ½ teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon dried oregano leaves crushed, 1 teaspoon ground cumin, ¾ cup salsa, 1-2 minced garlic clove, 1 onion, 1 lb ground beef. Brown the beef with the onion and garlic and drain. Stir in the salsa, cumin, oregano, and salt and simmer for 5 minutes or until the liquid has mostly evaporated. Brush one side of the tortillas with butter and spread one spoon of meat mixture into unbuttered side. Fold the tortilla and fold the ends down. Place seam side down in 13×9 baking dish for 13 minutes or until golden brown at 475 degrees.
